What am I doing wrong in subbing to remote communities?

I just switched over to feddit.uk to reduce the strain on lemmy.world. Either I've forgotten or am doing something wrong, because I can't seem to subscribe in what I thought was the right way.

Here's what I see. I navigated to the community via the technique in the pop up - but it still won't let me subscribe?

Well this has got to come close to being a stupid question.

I wasn't logged in on feddit.uk. Oh dear.

I mean, the clue was in the bright blue info bar telling you what was wrong, but it's ok - you got there in the end :)

See, I thought it meant I wasn't logged on on lemmy.world and I was thinking 'Well duh."
