How to block certain users from 1337x using uBlock Origin?

Title basically, i want to block some users (malicious ones like IGGGAMESCOM) from appearing in my 1337x search results but i dont really know how

You can probably block their user profile (https://1337x.to/user/username) but it doesnt filter out their results, just their profile when you click on it

hey i figured it out!

in ublock settings go to "my filters"

there, for every username you add a new line with the following: 1337x.to##tr:has-text(USERNAME)

this removes any tablerow (html tr element) that contains the string USERNAME, so for you it would look like this:

again, if you want to block another user, add a new line and replace USERNAME with the actual username you want to block

i dont know if this is great "coding" performance wise since it has to check quite some nodes but the site loads pretty quick for me

have fun :)

Is IGG that bad? Not that this counts as "evidence" to the contrary, since it was IGG saying it, but on some random comments section (also in 1337x) IGG was rather adamant that it's all unfounded and their stuff is clean.

again, to be clear, I'm not educated on the matter in either case, and I typically stick to FitGirl.

Yes at one point they were bundling crypto miners within their releases, I'm not too sure if they still do however there's a lot of trust and reputation within the Piracy community

Also the fact they've done it once makes it very possible for them to do it again (though I've got no idea if they even stopped bundling malware and cryptominers)

1337x demoted them at one point for their shady practices

@CraigeryTheKid So some of the things they've "allegedly" done are... thanks to the Reddit exodus a lot of the posts have been deleted but the accusations were... they created ads that ran before their games encouraging you to return and get more games, they created their own DRM that would block you from launching if you deleted their link files back to their site from your install folder, they had malware on their website through javascript that would inject adware, at least on one occasion a game installed something called Guard.exe malware. There is also the fact that they once had and then lost their trusted status on 1337x, probably for the malware. There are some to this day that argue the uploads on 1337x are safe because they moderate the uploads, but I'd be wary of trusting them.

Edit: I thought I hit reply to @CraigeryTheKid but apparently not. I'm confused.

What did IGG do to get such a bad reputation?

They've been accused of adding ads to games or adding cryptominers but I've never found that to be true. They did try to add some silly DRM to the games that made it so the game wouldn't run if you deleted their url files but they stopped doing that after people called them out on it.

Game piracy is such an incredibly funny topic because some of the people involved seem to genuinely see themselves as 17th century pirate lords lmao

Some of the people involved have huge ego's and they fight amongst themselves. It can be pretty funny indeed.

You could achieve this with tampermonkey or any other userscript browser extension, essentially just hide them using JavaScript/css if they appear in the search result html
