I used to hate the hacking mini game like a lot of people, but on my latest replay of fo4 I decided to actually give it my best shot and try to see if I could get good at it. It turns out it's actually a pretty fun logic puzzle if you really try your best on it. It's very doable if you take your time, no spamming required.
Edit: I wanted to give a tip on these for anyone interested. The amount of letters matched shown when you click a word also tells you how many didn't match. Let's say you matched 2/4. That means the right word will have two of the letters in the word you clicked, but only two. So if you see any words that have three letters that match your original word? You can rule those out. Hope that helps someone!
I recently played System Shock 2, which has a hacking stat and some sort of hacking puzzle. I couldn't figure it out and asked for help on the logic. One person said gitgud, but it turns out, it's pure RNG. Fuck that shit. Game has quick saving, so I just save scammed that.
Lmao that sounds pretty rough. Thankfully the fallout one is not RNG and is definitely learnable.
Yeah, I couldn't figure out the logic of the puzzles, so I went looking for walkthroughs and asked on one forum. The gitgud comment was impressive because in hindsight, they had never played the game anyway. You can effect the RNG with the hacking stat, but why present it as a puzzle?
