Should I post my pokemon play thru here?
I’m a big gameboy person despite never owning an actual game boy, I just like the games from there more then modern games. Started playing the Pokemon series for the first time, starting with Blue.
Idk if I’m allowed to also post my saves here, may just do some screenshots.
I’ve never watched nor played pokemon so, I’ll take any advice. I learn as I go.
There are several communities dedicated to Pokemon here on Lemmy. None of them have a lot of posts. Maybe you could help change that with your playthrough? :-). !pokemon@lemmy.world is one.
Sounds like a plan! I may post there originally and then cross-post elsewhere to help bring attention to the community.
edit: I can’t seem to post there, probably just my Thunder client.
I grew up with pokemon, its a relatively easy rpg from an adult perspective. I doubt you'd need advice aside from the rare times you miss a text box pointing you in the right direction.
If you enjoy the older pokemon games, I recommend also checking out some of the popular modded roms.
My little brother and I played pokemon on no$gmb back when red and blue were still considered new.
One day he started a character he named ASSWORM. Then the time came to pick his first pokemon, and he picked a Squirtle.
So the text on the screen said "ASSWORM received a SQUIRTLE!" which made me laugh so hard I still laugh at it because some part of me will always be a 14 year old boy.
do a run like this in real time and I'd watch it gladly :)

Are you going to use cheats at all?
No, not a big fan of game cheats, for me it removes the fun after a while
Once you beat the elite four there's a few glitches in the game you should try. I won't spoil them but they can be done with the base game and it was a big part of the game experience for my friend group back then.
