Anyone else looking forward to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes?

Very hyped for this one. It's a spiritual successor to the Suikoden series (PS1/PS2), of which the second game is my all time favorite RPG.

Anyone else?

It was one of four games I backed on Kickstarter years ago, and now it is the last one to come out. I haven't played Suikoden, so I only know vaguely what to expect. I do hope I like it more than the other games I supported, though.

Saw it on Steam the other day and got a bit confused with the three heroes one and the full 100 heroes one. What's the difference?

The one out now is a prelude chapter, but it's more of an adventury, sidescrolling type game. I bought it on the Switch but never got into it because it felt a little too basic, but I think it's just meant to be an introduction into the world.

Thanks for that. The way it was presented felt like a paying demo or something, as if I understand, the 3 heroes do appear in the 100.

I preordered this, even if there are no pre-order freebies (i think). I am a big fan of suikoden. I played and finished all their main games (1-6).

Don't torture me like that... (Though there were 6 mainline games if you include Tactics)

A yeah, sorry. Suikoden 5 had Sialeeds. I misremembered.

Suikoden Tactics, I wasn’t able to finish :(

Loved Sialeeds character design...

Her unremovable wind rune was a dead giveaway though, without me seeing spoilers. But yes, best character for suikoden 5! Followed by death-star arshtat….

I was actually thinking about this game the other day and struggling to remember its name, so this was a great reminder, thank you!

I remember seeing a hype post about it a couple of months ago and having my interest piqued, but I forgot to wishlist. I've never played Suikoden but it looks promising. I have some reservations in a couple of areas, but the style looks great and anything with a fishing minigame has its foot in the door with me.

I just hope they didn't go wide but not deep with the whole hundred heroes thing.

Welcome!

Yeah, I'm going in cautiously optimistic myself.

And just FYI, Suikoden typically focuses on a handful of the heroes, and the rest will be base NPCs and support characters, but the storytelling is pretty good, and they can go pretty deep on who they do focus on.
