Music of the Week - July 17, 2023
Here’s our weekly thread!
What have you been obsessing over this last week? What have you been listening to? What have you discovered, that you’ve found yourself drawn to?
Share something cool with someone else, and hopefully find something new for yourself!
This week has been a busy one, so I didn’t do much new music discovery. But have been pretty obsessed with Iron Maiden. Been listening through their discography alongside a Maiden podcast that discusses and analyzes each album. Have particularly enjoyed Somewhere In Time and really wish that the band was touring the US this year so I could go see them again.
I've discovered WARGASM last week. A powerful mix of The Prodigy and hardcore punk with occasional pop melodies. I can recommend their newest single or their interpretation of Lapdance by N.E.R.D. Their liveshows are chaotic and powerful as well, I would recommend live in The K! Pit
I listened to My Bluegrass Heart by Béla Fleck a lot this past week...
Other nice discoveries...
Also, anyone use ListenBrainz? I'm pasdechance on that platform.
I only just discovered last year's KMFDM release Hyena and have been pretty obsessed with it.
My "home" genres are more in the stoner rock/heavy/doom/metal but been on a industrial kick this summer
Oh nice, will have to check that one out. I still have almost all of my KMFDM cd's from the '90s still. I can't imagine them without En Esch, but will give it a try!
I've been hooked on Live Vol. 1 by Parcels lately.
