Valve did not say exactly why it got rid of its forced arbitration clause. But the company is currently being sued in a class action lawsuit in Washington state over the dominance of the Steam platform and over claims that it has overcharged for some games. The plaintiffs in that case actually went to arbitration and convinced an arbitrator that the forced arbitration clause should not apply to them, and were allowed to sue.

The plaintiffs in that case “retained separate counsel and mounted a sustained and ultimately successful challenge to the enforceability of Valve’s arbitration provision. Specifically, the named Plaintiffs won binding decisions from arbitrators rendering Valve’s arbitration provision unenforceable for both lack of notice and because it impermissibly seeks to bar public injunctive relief,” the class action lawsuit against Valve reads. Valve has not yet filed any arguments in that case.

Never "UBlock" always use "UBlock Origin"."UBlock origin" is way better(filters) than UBlock(which has an accepted ads program, also owned by Adblock Plus). Its available for Firefox android.

For more info on "UBlock" vs "UBlock origin" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UBlock_Origin#History

The badge is to help people identify official apps.

I think it's not about that development but whom the data is being sent to, the state or some third party that provides same services.

Like a National Emergency Broadcast app or app for vehicle and driver's license registration service, that need sensitive info like your Govt ID and other details.

So basically reddit gets a dollar on every gold purchased. The contributor who is (let's check the prerequisites)in good standing, completed a kyc,has enough karma, and minimum 10 gold to cash gets a whopping 1 dollar per gold.

So, provide a good answer, get traffic to the site and reddit will shows ads on it and also take a cut from any money given to the contributor(s).

I didn't think reddit could go any lower.Since this is a new low,I am curious how much is this going to ruin reddit(experience).

Nope, as usual a corpo has taken OSM's data and are going to provide it under new banner with few useful edits and not contribute to OSM.

Price gouging and corporate greed basically.

This is never going to get regulatory approval. FTC will move to block the this acquisition.

Qualcomm wasn't allowed to buy ARM, no way it gets to buy Intel.

Edit :I stand corrected.

It was Nvidia trying to buy ARM.

From the article:

In an email, a GivEnergy representative reinforced Castellucci’s assessment, writing:

In this case, the problematic encryption approach was picked up via a 3rd party library many years ago, when we were a tiny startup company with only 2, fairly junior software developers & limited experience. Their assumption at the time was that because this encryption was available within the library, it was safe to use. This approach was passed through the intervening years and this part of the codebase was not changed significantly since implementation (so hadn't passed through the review of the more experienced team we now have in place).

Best we can do is more scammy suggestions(Ads) when you use the search bar in play store. - Google

Trust me, you don't want to visit that website (company). Its sales and marketing methods are scam at best.

Probably a ban evasion measure linked to your IP. Try changing your IP address and then comment, might work.

People on metered connection and low connectivity areas are probably going to more inconvenienced by this force update banner. Unable to use your message app because you forgot to update and now cannot connect to the internet.

Ublock origin (Adblocker)

Sponsor Block(YouTube sponspor skip)

Google Play’s simultaneous downloads do not apply to application updates, which would be more useful as updating is more common than fresh installs.

I agree with the author, updates happening in parallel would help with the 3mb update to Gmail holding up 30-40 mb update on another app problem.

This is what i fear. How much curation and monitoring will be done on the ads, or this will be another vector for malicious application

Had the same idea, but it won't work:

  1. There's a 15 min edit window from the time message was sent.
  2. Edited message tag is visible

I don't want AI feature, subscription lock sounds good to me.

I will recommend Tv Time. It does all of the above, and recommendation is decent. No subscription(AFAIK).

You could block or mute those subreddits, that would stop them showing into your feed and stop you from engaging with them.

Anyways stay away from r/all and trending, because reddit tends to push those subs even when you have muted or blocked them. Although not so sure about this one, its been sometime since I have used Reddit.

Source: Used to block the AmITheAsshole and other relationship subs on reddit, made browsing popular way more interesting for me.

I use(and recommend) both for the best user experience.UBlock origin's element zapper feature has changed my life.

Just like, pre-installed Edge and Onedrive, completely opt in and one day a windows update (automatically) reboots your pc and you just got opted in.

Are there any other options?

A persistent banner asking to update at the bottom of the search bar is a good idea. Barring access to an essential app under any condition is just bad UX.

Dude took data mining to the next level, directly from the source.
