It’s google. They’re paying their bills just fine

I’ve checked a few instances of federated YouTube alternatives and just… no. Most of the content is right wing guys looking for a place to spread hate they can’t elsewhere. The type of people that watch Andrew Tate and Admin Ross. Lemmy is Great though, mastodon seems a little boring compared to twitter. The fix to that would be Elon fucking up enough that the very change averse average internet user would be willing to try mastodon.

Such a stupid response

But isn’t doing nothing just as impactful as doing something small? What if by going out and taking a walk, you bump in to someone, slowing them down by a few seconds. This leads to them narrowly avoiding getting hit by a car. Now they’re dead and it’s your fault, you monster!

Yes, please. The more changes Reddit makes that people dislike the more likely people will be to move to Lemmy.

This might be a server side error, actually. Here’s a comment from someone on r/redditmobile:

“For me, it displays the “no notifications” prompt. I think there is a server/app error that is causing notifications to not display. The “enable notifications and email” pop ups that occur when checking the activity screen might display instead of the “no notifications” box might appear if you do not have them enabled.”

What is this stupid giant red square trying to cover it up

God, what an idiot. He’s not stealing your bank details, he’s politely asking for them.

I plan on moving there as soon as possible when I graduate high school. Real tired of America

I’ve posted a feature request on the Lemmy GitHub to fix this, I hope they do something

And twitter blue dumbasses eat it up. Legit one of them said “he created a problem, and now he’s created a solution”. No, he didn’t say that as a criticism. He was telling people to buy twitter blue.

>google question >reddit thread with exact question as title >one comment >”just google it”

They need to add account and community migration as soon as possible

It’s good but Apollo has a level of polish that won’t be replicated for a while. It looks like Apollo, but it doesn’t 100% feel like it. Apollo for Lemmy would still be better than all of our current options imo.

I’m fine with threads federating with mastodon as it means more content which means people won’t immediately dismiss mastodon because it’s too boring for them, but I don’t want Lemmy to federate with Lemmy any more than I want to read tweets on reddit. They’re different types of platforms for different things.

Don’t sites already do this?

There are multiple games that wouldn’t be the same without VR. A Township Tale, Gorilla Tag, Echo VR. None of these would be nearly as fun without VR. The biggest issue with VR is probably the lack of some more linear story driven AAA games that many people are used to. And you don’t need to invest several thousand dollars for VR. Stand-alone VR with the quest has been a thing for years

Reddit has the money to fight a legal battle. Volunteers running a site off donations do not. They don't want to take risks and that's understandable

Maybe he secretly loves mastodon but doesn’t want to admit it so he keeps making terrible changes and somehow people keep eating it up and buying twitter blue. He’s probably just dumb though

Please just use snapdragon and I’ll buy a pixel

Because lemmy isn’t nearly as large as reddit and most of the communities I’m in are barely (if at all) active on lemmy

Still, Apollo was around for a while which means it’s had more time for polish, and it had a lot more users, which meant more support, motivation, and money for development, as well as more people to submit feature requests and bug reports.

the issue is you're still using uTorrent, switch to qBitTorrent

Well you chose an arch based distro, users who don't want to use the terminal can choose something like mint or pop os

Just look it up. And we should need taxes for it, because that's what taxes are (at least they should be) for.

Then find another instance where you can be as homophobic and transphobic as you want

I think this is the first time I’ve seen a mastodon account on lemmy

I don’t want to see threads content on Lemmy anyways. They’re different platforms for different things. I didn’t go on reddit for twitter posts either.

What’s even more annoying is they’re capable of recommending interesting long videos, they purposefully recommend shorter videos on mobile (like less than a minute), on pc they recommend more long videos and the TV app seems to have the most long videos

use qbittorrent instead

“Hey, check out this X video”

There's also pop!_OS which can come preinstalled with Nvidia drivers

For single player, the majority of games should work just fine. Most gaming issues nowadays are either because of invase DRM or anticheat, but more and more games are getting support. A large part of it is thanks to the steam deck.
