Turns out factory resetting it made it think the ink cartridges inside of it were not connected to her HP subscription. And because the printer last reported it has plenty of ink, she couldn’t get new cartridges from HP. When I called HP to try to get it resolved they said I would have to pay for someone to come out and fix it.

I will never buy anything from HP again, even if it’s an ecotank.
