OnlyOffice is good. Very similar to MS office

@Pantherina
There is a free subscription for RHEL for individuals.

And I think it's less of an issue nowadays with old packages since we have extra layers such as podman containers over distrobox, flatpak, snap, Nix etc.
Then you can have a solid base OS with less solid layers on top where things are allowed to break but don't mess with the rest of the system. I use Fedora Kinoite as my base for this exact reason.

@LinearArray Deleted Tinder around a week ago.

It used to be really good back in 2012-2014 but not anymore I think.

You're welcome! Great that it works :)
@fediverse

@tiring7616 firefox

@AnActOfCreation @TheEighthDoctor Oh damn. Didn't know he got a job at Google 😂

@ubergeek77 @pankkake you can comment and make lemmy posts from Mastodon and others. I'm on Friendica for example and made this comment from my Friendica profile.

@zinklog I'm staying on Fedi

And use Reddit to read communities which aren't here

@pankkake I'm subscribed to the Lemmy.world community so it showed up on my timeline.

@TankovayaDiviziya
True haha. But also the the algorithm was better. When Tinder needed to cash in for the investors the quality dropped because then the focus became about making money more than it's about satisfying the users. We have to remember that if you get a match which gets into a relationship, Tinder loses two customers.

@programmer_humor

@mfat and with Distrobox containers.

@alyaza @Sparkko completely agree and understandable

It shouldn't matter. Mastodon users should get notified when you reply to their post even though they aren't tagged in it.

At least that's the case for me on Friendica but I remember the same behaviour from back when I used Mastodon.

@ulterno
For which cases did you need cake for example?

My base OS is Fedora Kinoite and I'm considering have AlmaLinux in a podman container for some applications and tools. Replacing it every year because fedora is eol is too often in my opinion.

Hasn't Kate been replaced by an upgraded Kwrite or is Kate still maintained?

@The_Picard_Maneuver haha true. never google this kind of stuff.

@drubbis Doesn't make sense in my opinion. If you turn off federation it's basically just another Reddit

@Pantherina have you checked if systemd-resolved is working properly and that systemd-networkd or networkmanager is used? only one of them shall be used. i had a similar issue when upgrading from 38 to 39 because then both were active. i'm using NetworkManager on my desktop and disabled systemd-networkd and then it worked..

@mikestevens I use Firefox on both phone and pc and use Firefox Sync to sync between them.

@AndreTelevise yes they did :-)

@AndreTelevise

@mim this is a spiritual practice.
There are many techniques one can use but here i will give one example:

if let's say you want more money or better health - the desire can be anything, you can say affirmations in your mind as if the thing you want is already true. for example "I have the best health in the world" or "I always have more money than I need".
As you continue this practice it will be normalized in your mind and you will believe it more and more. The belief makes the subconscious mind manifest it in the external world in one way or another.

When you succeed in manifesting things, your faith will grow and it will eventually become easier as the mind will more easily pick it up, when one has faith in what he/she is saying to him/herself.

@nutomic lemmy.world is a new instance which can also be used.

@nutomic @ionhowto you dont have to sign up on multiple instances. if you want to comment a post on another instance, copy the url and paste in into the search field and then your current instance will fetch the post so you can comment on it.

@brn123 yeah. so 2 days is just a warning I guess? if they continue their current plans people may leave for good I guess.

@SUPERcrazy3530 @peppy Completely agree. If they disconnect later we are just back where we are now - so literally no loss. Only win by connecting

@ulu_mulu
I can also recommend LXDE which is very lightweight. That's what I installed on my dad's old single core laptop.
