I love that it recommends "I'm not suicidal I just want to know if my data is lost", as if it knows it didn't understand it right.

this post was made by a non-tab-hoarder

I refuse to believe that anyone other than Linus knows how to use git.

The weirder part is the issues they don't do that in.

I still don't understand the === operator

Edit: I think a more type strict ==? Pretty sure I understand the point of typescript now.

screenshot of my desktop. Pictured are two floating windows, both kitty, the left one is small, with pfetch just executed, the right one is bigger, with Neovim, open on src/Compositor.cpp from the Hyprland repo. At the top is a mostly default waybar. The wallpaper is a cute promotional wallpaper for Slime Rancher.

Stuff here is:

  • Hyprland: Window Manager
  • Waybar: Status bar
  • Kitty: Terminal
  • Neovim: Editor
  • swww: Wallpaper daemon (Image (archive.org link, scroll down) is a promotional wallpaper for Slime Rancher)

Workspace 3, which I actually use:

the same desktop, but two other, tiled, windows are open. The left one takes up more space. Again both Kitty, the left one with ncmpcpp open, and the right one with newsboat open.

Additional stuff here:

  • ncmpcpp: front-end for mpd (Music Player Daemon)
  • Newsboat: rss reader

The pretty wallpaper and Catppuccin Mocha theme terminal carry the looks quite a bit tbh.

Might be an afternoon of CSS, or might be 2+ weeks of React

That's super based. Pirate whoever's stuff you want, but small artists usually depend on that income.

You should be able to do this on Plasma with Activities.

It was literally led by the evil EA guy.

The only reason I don't bookmark much, is because I'm actively hoarding 517 tabs.

If you put a decimal in your statistic, it becomes 82.6% more believable.

Actualpy manifestV3 is awesome as they reduce the permissions of extensions on the browser.

That's literally what kills the ad-blockers. You should watch the video that's conveniently linked in the post you commented on, it's only half an hour long and well researched.

Someone who's sometimes a bottom, and sometimes a top.

You definitely meant it in that way

your desktop looks like a lock screen with the clock lol

He confirmed in the premiere chat that the broken wallpaper is a direct hbomberguy reference.

That's a lot of code, I'd expect the 12 lines in the README.

Do you mean OnlyOffice? OpenOffice is the old thing that LibreOffice is a fork of.

I like kitty because:

  • multiplexing
  • more minimal than DE terminals
  • fast
  • can display images natively

Currently most likely GNOME, maybe KDE 6 in a month.

Gestures feel nice on Hyprland, but to my knowledge there's only a workspace swipe gesture by default. Also note that it's not a DE.

My mom recently got me a sweater from https://www.freewear.org/. Not sure if they entirely meet your criteria, but they do donate.

It can mean that, but you can also install it on normal Ubuntu.

I mean understand and know when or how to use every feature and command, I don't mean using git clone https://github.com/foo/bar occasionally.

Kitty, because I like it more than the KDE and GNOME terminals, and I prefer native multiplexing

This is about what I expected from someone on a general purpose mastodon instance.

Spoiler: Mastodon isn't the only software that can interact with Mastodon

You haven’t seen my Firefox with Sidebery extension and 544 tabs open, not even remotely organized into categories, no tab stacks with three levels and folders :P I should clean it up some day

I've been using Gentoo for a bit less than a month now. Installing the binary version of a package can easily be done by providing one or two flags to emerge. The binary packages are compiled pretty generic, to work with most systems, so you lose out on most of the compilation level control.

seems to be something to do with star wars

I don't understand the people who say it's long, like no it isn't, 1:15:24 is a completely reasonable (if not even a bit short) time for the topic.

You might be interested in the ArchWiki page on prompt customization: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Bash/Prompt_customization

yt-dlp (with --add-metadata) puts the channel name in the artist field and the video title as the track name. With --embed-thumbnail, it uses the thumbnail as the album art. This can all work, but only if your artist puts just the name in the title, and uses the album art as the thumbnail. The problem is when they don't.

I doubt PHP has anything to do with that.

The enby flag fits unexpectedly well to the charmeleon

people will read stable and instantly comment debian

Jokes aside, given that you said in a comment that it's for non-tech-savvy people, I'd say Linux Mint, partially just because it will look familiar if they've seen any Windows PC.

The "[thing] [synonym for 'is bad'] and here's why" title has been a thing on YouTube for years now.

::: spoiler spoiler You're cute UwU :3 :::

Might be worth hosting Gitea/Forgejo

Cozy:

  • Slime Rancher is super cute.
  • Forager is pretty nice, but the controls suck on anything other than keyboard/mouse.
  • Outpath is kinda like a 3d Forager with a dev who doesn't have staff he can't pay.

Rythm:

  • Geometry Dash is great.
  • ADOFAI is awesome.
