Similarly, I thought this was Mint Mobile -- i just paid for a three month contract to use on my work phone
Then don't use the feature lmfao
Stop complaining about developers having fun with software they're providing you for free
Not really one to defend Google, but Microsoft is out of line on this (and a lot of other stuff they do). Sadly our Congresspeople are pretty much owned by these corps and won't do anything about it.
The whole thing is subjective, they were rankings done by survey. No one is trying to hide that
That's exactly how drinking games work. Beer pong works the same way
Misleading headline. I watched the hearing, what he said was that parental controls should be centralized by Apple/Google at the app store level. To simplify the process so that parents can cut access to apps for their kids without needing to manage parental controls for a bunch of apps
Disagree, we know alcohol is dangerous so it's not a surprise. Looking for things that are believed to be safe and normal but actually aren't
i.e. teflon
This is so fucked, but this brings up a question -- is this something to be concerned about for instances federated with lemmy.world? As in, if something like this is uploaded to a community that the instance federates with, their instance will now have a copy as well?
WAIT i know this picture
Because apparently telling children/girls that they can have independence, be anything they want, and recognizing womens struggles is woke
Perhaps, but on the other side of that coin: Because valve doesn't have legal obligations to make money snd increase shareholder value, they put a lot of money elsewhere. The products they create are awesome (literally the best launcher on PC, Tim Sweeney is probably upset because his is ass) and invest heavily in things better for gamers:
hypocritically edgy comment to put into an article.
Its vice, their whole brand is edgy. Calling Elon an edgelord is very on brand for them.
pretty conspicuously ignoring that men can be victims of this too.
Sure, but women are disproportionately affected by this. You're making the "all lives matter" argument of AI porn
make people take sides on things like this
People should be taking sides on this.
Just seems like you wanna get mad for no reason? I read the article, and it doesn't come across nearly as bad as you would lead anyone to believe. This article is about deepfake pornography as a whole, and how is can (and more importantly HAS) affected women, including minors. Sure it would have been nice to have a comment from Taylor, but i really don't think it was necessary.
Facts, having been here since the API shit went down, i have seen a LOT more engagement on the platform compared to july 2023
Nah I'd say crushed because they started forcibly reopening subs, removing moderators, etc etc
Hey just FYI, I've been experiencing a postgres memory leak issue on my instance since the upgrade to 0.19.2. Theres a GitHub issue open about it (#4406), not sure if it's something that will affect you but probably worth keeping in mind
Because this thread is specifically about the escalade not having it.
They redesigned again?
You guys are still using Reddit?
Also i need talklittle to either port rif or make it open source so we can port it ourselves ;-;
If you get caught.
FM/AM, TV, etc have all been around for LONG before the 2020s
this guy gets it
Can someone explain all the hate against Beehaw to me? I run a private instance, so I don't really keep up with Lemmy politics
Honestly over the last year since the great migration, the discussions on lemmy have really grown and matured to the point where i don't really see the value of reddit anymore
I honestly find it impressive how quickly the word "enshittification" is brought up in Lemmy comments
(/s, but we do talk about it a lot here)
The optimistic outlook on it is that unlike Twitter the quality of content on Reddit relies on moderators who have no official capacity from the site. Twitter is moderated by people who are paid at Twitter, so moderators leaving the sub (and taking the curation the users enjoyed with them) is much more impactful.
To be fair, it is implied that foster care is temporary, no? Like you have to know what you're getting yourself into
Those are comically large gaps between the bars lol
Idk why you're being downvoted, its true. Folding screen technology has been pretty much the only major innovation in the phone space for a while now.
phones don't really need upgrades
Huh??? I went through 4 phones during the lifespan of my last PC
It pretty much did within minutes LMAO
I had to go and check wsb to see what the chatter was on this. Looks like they share the same sentiments tbh
Edit: Looks like they could use some Lemmy enlightenment tbh
People who play League are a different breed bro
Ridiculous, one day i logged into r/cigars, saw all the nsfw banners and had to do a double take on whether i was on the right sub
Do you want the real answer? Its because workers rights in this country have been slowly eroding over the last 70 years. So now we've ended up in a situation where everyone keeps their head down and does as their told because they have no power to do anything about it.
Then the companies pay millions to prevent unions by telling us that unions are worthless. But if unions are worthless, why are they spending millions to prevent them ...?
If you're smart about it, doing home automation can be really rewarding and useful. Automating lights to turn on when it gets dark is probably the most useful thing. I also have a window fan to bring in cool night air, which automatically clicks off at 60°. All of this runs locally on a raspberry pi via home assistant and z-wave, no sus devices on my network!
Lemmy as a real issue with a lot of random no-name news websites being posted to it tbh
make third party apps available to Reddit Gold subscribers, implement reasonable api feeds, etc.
There were a lot of solutions to this, however the real money is probably in the Reddit app harvesting user data that they could resell to advertising companies
EDIT: dude was talking about plastic recycling, i misunderstood the context
Original comment:
🧢
50% of beer and soda cans are recycled
And,
Why post blatantly false, easily invalidated information?
Streisand Effect, which historically is something the people of Reddit LOVE to enforce
Spez literally said in an interview that Musk's handling of twitter is what inspired him so
