Personally..... Id spin up a Ubuntu desktop instance for Jellyfin and Sonarr. I went through a few different operating systems before I went back to Ubuntu and....it just works. Lots of documentation on installing those services that way. Jellyfin is very happy behind Sonarr... I'd stay away from Windows for any kind of selfhosting because I don't trust them

I have a DD214 to prove my time active duty and one from my deployment with the reserves. your right I guess speaking for most. I know lots of guys who like people enjoying their freedoms within the law. illegal fireworks are definetly a problem and I have no idea where you are in the country or your laws around here and most of the 6 states ive lived in it usualy dies down around 10pm and Ive always made sure to go somewhere and do something that keeps me busy. just because I have a problem doesnt mean the whole world has to stop enjoyin themselves

Alternatively host your own instance on a VPS like Linode. Costs me $20 a month for my box that runs a lot of tasks like Lemmy, Mastodon, matrix, and a couple smaller task. I split the cost with the 8 or so of us that use the service so it's not too expensive

It plays hell on the Turkey farms. When turkeys get scared they run regardless of what's on the way. So a big blast can cause a barn of 9k birds to all run in the opposite wall and kill eachother
