This was me the other day. I spent hours and hours coding up some things in python when all I was supposed to do were the dishes.
The dishes didn't get done because it was too hard, but I got fancy looking weather graphs from the data from my air quality sensor that I built while avoiding other simple chores that really ought to have been done by now.
People think I'm lazy and refuse to listen to me about this, but it literally gets in the way of things like eating and sleeping.

I had chmod /* instead of ./* using the root user, because I had some file permissions that needed fixing. I quickly realised that I had made the entire filesystem have file permission issues when half my desktop crashed. Couldn't boot the system anymore so I started a distro-hoping journey which was really fun and taught me a lot about Linux.
I still get a rush of anxiety whenever I need to change file permissions recursively.
This is so ridiculous, I fucking love it. I just have waybar bound to a hotkey, but this solution is truly amazing

I also ensure that I have ublock origin on everything I can put it on. I'm sure the default lists are fine for pihole (I just like tinkering with things), but I recommend https://firebog.net/ for finding more lists if you so desire
I love btop because of how fancy the graphs look and it also shows disk utilisation. I use it pretty much wherever I can. When I want something more simple I use bottom btm --basic and alias it to top

I use Debian for one and Arch for another. Debian is probably a better option, but I've had no issues with my arch server. Just use what you're most comfortable with

I had TOTP die for one user on my Nextcloud. I tried to disable it, but it "didn't exist". I tried to enable it, but it was already enabled. It would come up when I used occ twofactorauth:state user. I ended up fixing it by (force) disabling the app and re-enabling it. It didn't break any other user's TOTP and it fixed problem-user's TOTP. No idea what went wrong, but I get these random issues with Nextcloud sometimes.
The plus side to this is I've learnt how to use Mariadb and I've gotten better at debugging things.
