I really wish bots were forced to provide their github and/or who is running the bot. Its really annoying have a lot of content posted by bots woth no way to report errors. This bot posts soo much and always has that tiny “summary” of the posts. Can’t it at least use the auto tldr bot code to give decent summaries?

Artists and scientists can make a living of their work without copyright. CC BY SA and creative commons in general doesnt prevent you from selling your work and people can support art/science without it being behind paywalls. We need to move to a culture where we don’t try to enforce everything with the threat of jail/punishments and move to a culture where we support things we love because we want the creators to be able to continue creating without worry

Have you been on join-lemmy.org? No one is hearing about lemmy for the first time and deciding to join based off of it. The entire website is all tech speak, and literal lorem ipsum with zero screenshots that actually show off the platform, and zero screenshots of any of the apps (which is how a ton of people browse reddit)

90% of redditors who go there will be confused and never go back. It says “a link aggregator for the fediverse” in big which, 99% of people will just be confused because whats a link aggregator? And for most people, whats “the fediverse”? Join a server? Run a server? What?

Then it says “Lemmy is a selfhosted social link aggregation and discussion platform” people know what some of those words are but definitely not in that order.

Then its screenshots of some code on github? Then its more code saying lemmy is open source?

Then it says “blazing fast” with a screemshot of lorem ispum

It would help a ton if mastodon - lemmy federation was smoother. For example if people could follow communities on mastodon without seeing every comment as a post would help a lot.

The projection stuff looks sooo gimicky and terrible to interact with. There’s also no way people will be talking out loud to interact with their messages and emails. This is essentially a bluetooth headset repackaged. This is not going to do well at all
