He's right, the real story should be how badly CNN shit the bed with how they handled this debate. They basically let Trump run wild, didn't challenge or correct him.

And all rveryone can talk about was how energetic trump was, and how Biden "stumbled" etc. The coverage is way more appalling than the actual debate. Hell even in Canada the media is running stories about how Biden 'lost' the debate and "time to panic!" Despite Trump making no sense and lying 100% of the time.

What in the fuck is happening here?

Any leftist who doesn't vote against a facist far-right candidate like Trump is pretty shit at being a leftist.

It depends if you think lying is a big deal. If you don't think brazenly lying is a big deal what is wrong with you?

I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but it's easy to choose the better of two choices here. Debate or not, how is it even a question who to vote for when one guy is openly a fascist?

Sorry, I think I did misread your comment, apologies.

I do realize it's growing in popularity, I am not suggesting anyone hide their head in the sand, though.

I was trying to say that this narrative of "were doomed" and "theyre both bad choices" feeds into this problem. Its more false equivalency, and discourages voting. I realize you weren't saying this, and that this IS what people are saying. But I still find it gobsmacking that people are seriously saying it's hard to choose.

Well kind of (it's addressed in the video)

Maybe its just me but I'd be way more likely to buy a game if I knew it was made by well treated workers.

"Protect the children" is the new "fight terror". Big empty phrases that only end up taking away rights and targeting minorities.

The fact that its been so normalized to be this openly shitty and callous toward frigging children... i dont even know how to react to this any more.

Im not saying its hopeless, but I feel like a lot of people on the "lets not let children go hungry" side of the fence are almost left speechless by these idiots. But i feel like thats almost part of their strategy - stunning the opposition. There has to be a better response.

What's the best way to respond to this kind of brazen cruelty? (Besides voting and campaigning for candidates who arent sociopathic).

"absorbing and destroying a unique company would be a real feather in the old cap"

"If you tell our customers we misled them, that would be bad for our business!"

I think this is mostly just a case of becomming super rich. It happens a LOT to people who become wealthy, it tends to change your personality and the way you think, usually for the worse.

There have been many studies that confirm this. Though there are a few exceptions, the data shows rich people really do tend to behave like entitled assholes, think they know better, think they ARE better.

Reminds me of how Trump has been going after wind farms for a long time. He claims they're noisy and they're killing all the birds. (He began saying this when Scotland wanted to place Wind farms near his Scottish golf resort)

Even if Lizzo does turn out to be a hypocritical garbage person, the internet misogynists are going to run wild with this. This time they get to go after her and her accusers.

The conversation around this is going to get real horrible real fast, knowing the internet.

I like how they keep testing this crap on the Canadian market.

I dont know if were the best guinea pigs, I mean look at what we pay for telecoms. We're pretty passive when it comes to being gouged, other countries might not be so potato-like in their response.

Youre right, but this is Steven King, when is he not putting out a new book?

Also hes not struggling for attention, he's probably Americas most famous author. He speaks out about stuff all the time I dont think its fair to write off his opinion on this being solely a publicity stunt.

Good! Other free countries, please follow suit.

If you dont stomp out the nazi fascists, they will grow and try to stomp you.

Reddit is a flaming monetized dumpster now but it used to be what the article is describing. (mostly)

It hasn't worked for a while. Even a year ago it was considerably better.

I can't believe it, but Bing is now the better search engine. What is happening to the world?!

All the conservative parties in the west seem to be pushing the same thing. It seems pretty co-ordinated which is even scarier. Every country is hearing the same talking points.

Isn't it significantly cheaper for most businesses to be run remotely? What is the pressure of returning to work coming from?

He is right.

He was president for four years and he didnt do this at all. What are you talking about?

Its reasonable for him to assume nobody is going to stop him, since nobody has stopped him yet. He thinks the rules dont apply to him. Placing him in custody/taking away his phone are the only thing that will work.

People are getting pretty spicy with the responses. OP was just underwhelmed by a game getting a lot of hype. Like lots of people are going to like it, but not everyone. I think theyre just trying to generate discussion, not say "everyone who likes starfield is an CHUMP!!" or something.

Marvel fatigue + poor advertising mostly, I would think. As someone who likes all the characters in this movie and the marvel universe in general... even I am waiting to watch it on Disney+. No Marvel movie is a must-watch for me anymore, hardly any movies are. Theatres are just too damned expensive.

Sueing anti-hate groups will really bring in the advertisers! Another genius move.

Hopefully it'll get thrown out, seems pretty meritless.

Its probably going to end up like facebook.
A big lumbering thing, still heavily populated but ad choked and overrun by bots and bad actors, indoctrinating unsuspecting users. Even if it stays big, hopefully its reputation will suffer enough to keep most new users away.

At least with other speculative crashes like say beanie babies you were left with a cute toy.

I was happy to see he's currently on the cover of People magazine. I live in a pretty conservative neighbourhood, so it was cool seeing some representation waiting in line at the grocery store (even if its just a little bit). :)

We do need to be careful, yes. But this isnt a case of mislabelling views just because they disagree with their politics. Its important to call out far right nationalist parties for what they are.

As is discussed in the video, Omega_Haxor wasnt making a baseless attack on a belief they disagreed with. Authoritarian politicians do have a history of using this dogwhistle messaging.

This is so, so infuriating, she was the only one arrested?! I only hope she can take this police force to court.

Why else would robots be used in warehouses? Are the robots are just there for entertainment purposes?

It sounds like the organization might not have been aware that this fundraising tool was doing this, that's even worse. They think they're providing a service to people and raising money meanwhile the people they're helping are unwittingly being tracked - who knows how this information could be misused by insurers/employers/etc etc.

I wonder what recourse the organizations could take? A lawsuit? Going to the media?

Sony, please. Someone other than Pratt. He only does one voice and he's already Mario.

(Also he's a bit of a toolbox, to put it mildly)

People keep taking issue with this articles use of "summarizing" and linking to wikipedia... Summaries of copyrighted work are obviously not illegal.

This article is oversimplified and does a crummy job of explaining the problem. Ars Technica does a much better job explaining.

The fact that the ai can summarize these works in detail is proof that they were trained using copyrighted material without permission, (which is not fair use) Sarah Silverman is obviously not going to be hurt financially by this, but there are hundreds of thousands of authors who definitely will be affected. They have every right to sue.
