Home Assistant. It's a rabbit hole, but it's great. I've got motion enabled lights, thermostats for "dumb" heaters, and I track device usage (tablet, xbox) of my kids.

Not sure what site that is you've linked, but the official site seems to be this one: https://freetubeapp.io/

It works perfectly with Libredirect. Thank you!

It's a cat and mouse game, and history has proven that in this case adblockers will win. Or we'll get ad blocker blocker blockers.

Euuhh what? I used to use an old pc but found out I could save about NZ$100 per year on power by switching to an RPi4. It hosts about 15 things, like sonarr, radarr, home assistant, pi hole, nzbget, photoview, Frigate, and backups, without any issues. Yes it's not super power full but it's perfect for me.

I really don't understand all the negative comments. It feels like a very fun game and I can't wait to play it again.

I switched to DDG and then to Kagi based on all the praise it gets here. So much better than Google!

Pretty standard here in NZ too. As a Dutch guy I would never ever cycle there. Cycles don't belong on a motorway.

But, retention means repetition, so you learn more, right? Not trying to defend Duolingo but I've been enjoying it for the last 3 years or so. Almost got 1000 day streak and my Spanish is getting better.

I'm using Kagi and can't be happier.

Ori (both ones). Absolutely stunning platformer. One of the best games I've every played, just started a second playthrough.

Not sure why everyone is so upset. This is nothing new. Has been happening for years with phones and tablets. They get at least 5 years of updates, which I think is pretty good. My kids have had the same CBs at their schools for 6 years and still going strong. Some of my laptops don't last that long.

Welcome here! I also deleted all my accounts. First felt weird, but now I found Lemmy I don't look back. I don't want to support a business run by such a lunatic.

41 yo here. Definitely feeling the same. What pve games do you play? I'm on xbox, just checking Deep Rock Galactic.

I noticed that as well! People are nicer here. Perhaps because it's all new etc.

Let's see how it goes. Reddit used to be nice too haha.

I've been raised as a Christian, but always found it weird that there was zero proof and all based on a book. It seems like the longest running book club ever. I'm still going to church regularly, mainly because I enjoy the company and the church we're going to promotes a good lifestyle: Take care of each other, respect other's people's choices, and be kind.

I really despise the news where people are banning e.g. aborting / LGBTQ /queer in the name of Christianity. Just respect what other people do!

And I think there are things we can't explain. I recently read "After" written by a doctor who has spent decades to research NDE's and there are many things he can't explain, and scientists still don't know what exactly the conscience is.

Kiwi here, been to Oz couple of times. Never heard of them checking for pirated content. But if it's stressing you, you may appear stressed when checked at customs and that's never good. So for peace of mind I'd just delete it and redownload when you are in.

Worked in supermarket. New manager came in and decided to change everything, everybody hated it. So as a good 23 year old I decided to start harassing him by ordering free magazines, free stuff, furniture, kitchens etc etc online and get it delivered to his house.

I made the mistake to look up The Heritage Foundation. What a misinformation on their site, eg also denying climate change :(

Yes, very good idea. I've got HA on a RPI so that should be easy.

Hi fellow IT contractor, thanks for sharing! That is awesome. Just installed and works like a charm. I was using Chrome profiles for this, but having all in one window is much easier.

Well said. I always wonder why billionaires keep working. Your post explains it nicely.

Container tabs. No more need for separate chrome profiles.

I totally agree with the first five, but not sure about the last one, whole fat dairy. Eg cheese contains saturated fat which isn't healthy. I had assumed that lower fat milk would be better for eg the calcium.

Xbox owner here. I love the xbox for gamepass, have been subscribed for years. Think I also prefer the xbox controller. I miss some of the exclusives of PS5.

But it's very much an opinion I believe. I totally understand if people buy a PS5.

My Play Store app updated overnight, requiring the latest server side update.

Depends on your stage of life as well. I'm 41 now and a dad, so I have max 2 hours per day. When I was still studying I played wow for entire days.

Now I enjoy shorter games like Firewatch and Lake. Just finished Beacon Pine. Xbox Gamepass is excellent for this as it's full of these games.

I did play longer games like Mass effect legendary edition, and The Witcher 3, but I only play such long games if I really like them.

Thousands of hours in a game is unfortunately out of the question.

I guess Play Pass for Android is similar. Thanks.

Second vote for Kagi. I've read so many good stories about it here, so gave it a try. First time didn't really like it, but gave it a second try, and now am paying user. Not for everyone, the Mrs doesn't like it.

Those graveyards were for failed startups around ride sharing / rentals.

With realdebrid it's even better :) But yes special content is hard to find, I still have to revert back to usenet for some content.

I've given it three tries as everyone was raving about it. Just didn't click, guess just not my game which is fine. So perhaps it's not your game either.

Stardew Valley. Loved to play it on long haul flights, doesn't need Internet.

How does it compare to Kagi?

I can't self host it, what's the problem with using an existing instance?

That's awesome news. As an XSX owner I was worried about the news that the XSS could hold back games because of the feature parity requirement.

I've the same thing. This is a very old issue and it's still not resolved. It seems Android prefers Chromium based browsers as it doesn't happen there. I tried everything, nothing helped. So had to revert to Brave.

Fitness, /r/fitness is in the top 20 or so.

Food and icecream.

It seems mainly tech talk here, and anti Windows everywhere.

But based on my posts, someone decided to replace his petrol car with a Leaf. Someone else got into Home Assistant because of me. So it has its goods sides as well.

I switched to Deezer for the pod cast issue. My favourite pod cast kept being deleted from Spotify. Owner said it was Spotify at fault. Also had issues with offline mode.

Deezer is awesome.

I'm not too worried about that tbh. It's the same thing that when she gets a mobile phone it will be very limited, only call, text and messaging. No social media until she's 18. Thanks though for checking.
