I'm not sure how significant this is. They basically said 'we read your study and it didn't make sense to us, nor did the video'. There was no attempt at replication. Which would be fine and all, except that others have reported varying degrees of success in their replication attempts, indicating there's at least a little fire behind the smoke.

That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Telling people they get a new phone if they sign up for 2 years then cancelling it at the 22 month mark.

No surprise. Nobody talks about new Google projects any more, since the assumption is they'll be gone in a year.

Edit: Not even hyperbole. This very article states Keen was launched in 2020 and stopped receiving updates in 2021. They shelved it in literally a year.

The press isn't monolithic. This is one journalist stating their opinion and analysis of what the rest of the industry needs to focus on.

Hey fellow non-China Chinese. Just block lemmy.ml, lemmy grad.ml and hexbear for a much better lemmy experience.

Most of the points listed here don't matter a hoot to the average user.

They weren't 'indie steam games', they were just a scam. No need to blacken the reputation of actual indie games.

"Pay-to-win is accepted here [in Interactive World], but the free-to-play experience is awful and that's what needs to be improved right now."

Who could have foreseen that?

Can we get the Israel flag to come up when we type 'genocide'?

Not an expert, but it seems like you're conflating issues of spelunking with cavemen living 5 meters from the entrance.

The corollary of "there is no lesser evil", is "there is no greater evil". You're saying that there is absolutely no crime that could be committed that would be worse? Like, say, genocide AND a descent into fascism? Maybe flavored with a nice sprinkling of loss of women's rights?

This nonsense keeps getting reposted, when it was discovered previously it was a router reporting error

You're not helping the stigma against mental illness here

Funny how the FCC decided starlink is incapable of doing this, but was happy enough to pay all the other ISPs who are still incapable of doing it after decades of payments

Personally it was the behemoth worms and psychic mind readers that made me think it wasn't a documentary, but YMMV

I like how we need to clarify which shithead sheriff we're talking about from day to day

This is why beehaw needs downvotes. Crappy submissions like this article that don't make any sense

Edit: OP has been spamming his nonsense across multiple communities, and has hundreds of downvotes on each of them. Except here on beehaw...

We're asking the opposite question outside the states. Why is text messaging so popular in the states, to the point a blue / green checkmark is cause for teenage bullying?

To provide context, WhatsApp and its ilk came along way before RCS was a thing (it existed, but nobody implemented it). They were widely adopted due to their vast improvement over existing text messaging. So the better question is, why did the states cling to text messaging and never adopted 3rd party chat apps?

Can we and the media stop calling him a 'democratic candidate'?

I see nobody in the comments actually bothered reading the article. It's not that cat meat is illegal, it's that they were passing it off as pork and beef. Also some speculation that the cats might have been stolen

What is this bullshit titlegore

Seeing as the customer insisted on that package despite the expert's recommendation, that's a fully justified idiot tax

Why would Beijing threaten him, they own him.

Also, Jack Ma proved no billionaire is too rich for China to touch

The Superelastic Tire offers traction equal or superior to conventional pneumatic tires and eliminates both the possibility of puncture failures and running “under-inflated”, thereby improving automobile fuel efficiency and safety. Also, this tire design does not require an inner frame which both simplifies and lightens the tire/wheel assembly.

Except that NASA's new tires are actually better than normal tires in the normal use cases. Hence the word invented. Did you actually read the article before criticising it?

Can somebody help me understand the advantages of passkeys over a password manager? Googling just brings up tons of advertising and obvious self promotion, or ELI5s that totally ignore best passwords practices using managers.

Whoever Satoshi was, I wonder how he's responding to the thought that he's personally contributed more to global warming than the average billionaire.

From when this was posted yesterday:

It's an interesting question. How much focus should be on apple for providing a technology with a valid use case, as opposed to the systemic issue of the authorities ignoring stalkers and harassers?

Keep in mind that each airtag has a direct link to the identity of the stalker themself. It would take near zero effort for the authorities to actually prosecute these assholes. Instead, the cases are ignored and the stalkers emboldened, until the victims have to seek refuge in any way they can.

Depends on the details of why they were fired. We're obviously only getting one side of the story here
