Again, I don't know who that is, I remember David Brent, Tim, Dawn, Gareth, Keith, etc. No Michel in the main cast? Was he one of the blokes that worked in the warehouse with Dawn's other half?

In the American version the branch managers name is Michael
Isn't the America version called "The Office - An American Workplace" as opposed to just "The Office" like the original? People need to delineate.
Nope same exact title. Though they'll usually have US or UK in parenthesis.

Fair enough, as the UK series was the original, I still think people should delineate when they mean the US series.
well the US one is wildly more popular in every country(especially with streaming now), so i think it's fair that "The Office" refers to the US one. In fact there was another TV show called The Office before the Ricky Gervais one, but people don't refer to that when they mean "The Office" either.
Also when they said "Michael Scott" and "The office" in the same sentence, that's pretty clear.
