Onions taste gross and have no tangible benefit to cooking. Fight me.

This thread really has brought out some real crazies.

But you sir are, in fact, a demon among men.

I will agree that raw red onion consumes all flavor in a dish, but a yellow onion diced and sautéed improved almost every savory dish it’s in.

Onions, in fact, tenderize meat and many other products, making them more pleasant.

Also, they taste good.
