Not according to the dictionary. Conversate literally defined as āto have a conversationā. A conversation isnāt limited to interactions over 5 mins. More from Merriam-Webster:

I think itās fair to say itās widely frowned upon by most English speakers. Itās longer than the original word, has much more limited usage, and it immediately makes you sound like an idiot. Itās awful.
I think it's converse. Just say talk.

...and as a former business major...all I have to say is, you're either going to be a business (of sorts) or work for a business. Hopefully, you will also be dealing with money. Knowing what makes businesses tick, and understanding money, isn't a bad thing. š
Looking at present-day society & towards our future, I'd definitely steer more young men away from college & towards trade schools & the like.
