On Microsoft's current Windows versions you don't need an additional Anti-Virus anyway. Windows Defender does the same and generally is as good as or better.
Also avoids trusting more parties.

On microsofts current windows, windows itself is the virus.

But if you need it, then i recommend you: Adblocker ( uBlock Origin for example ) with lists with malicious links and it removes many of those scam websites that google recommends.

Dont trust third party apps, dont use chrome(or chrome based browsers) it will steal more data than the free anti virus software ever does.

And much much more.

Yeah, then you just have to worry about Microsoft stealing your data.

They're already stealing your data anyway. Might as well let them block others while they're at it.
