Gatekeeping the Infuriating

Aer@lemmy.worldmod to Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world – 5 points –

It goes without saying, One thing that annoys me is whenever a topic comes up about someone finding something mildly infuriating and there is always that 1 person who has to decide it isn't because of x, y and z reasons

Like I guarantee, if I were to do the same it'd be on every post with tiles that were out of order, upside down because it's one of the few things I look at and shrug because it's whatever... but I'm not about to do that. People are allowed to be infuriated by things that don't necessarily infuriate you.

Any kind of Gatekeeping in general.... very infuriating.

Anyway see this post as an open invitation to vent. Comment below. What infuriates you? and what thing that typically infuriates others, doesn't infuriate you.

This post infuriates me. We shouldn't need to explain that we're different people, but here we are.

Sadly, the things that annoy me are things like the messes I leave for future me. Past me is a lazy asshole.

I also infuriate me.

When I’m doing any type of DIY and finish using a tool for the moment it goes on the floor or table closest to me and I can never find the bloody thing when I next need it.

If I apply some discipline and designate an area for tools then things do go much more smoothly.

this in the form of my file naming scheme. I know it fucks me over later. Yet I still do it

Then you finally find it, think "I should rename this from "Stupid_Long_Default_FileName_2023-04-25_A_Long_Long_Time_Ago_In_A_Galaxy_Far.away to something recognizable".......

But you don't.

Better than coming across delete_me.3.6.2019.txt ...

This a scatter shot. Might have personally attacked everyone with this lol

It's okay though, you can just clean it up by putting them in "New Folder (3)" and moving it to your other hard drive that you swear you'll sort through one of these days months years. The creation/modification date should be enough information to clue you in on what's inside without opening the file and looking, right?

Then cursing yourself. You've put it in your hard drive somewhere... You'd hope it was in my documents but because you were half way through another project at the time it is highly likely it was within that other project you were working on and you can't remember what that is
