You're right about who most of the sexists and racists are, but the title is not technically in passive voice. A more accurate version, reflecting the ways she's taking them on, for instance by rallying the powerful voices of Black Women, would be "Harris Faces Down Misogyny and Racism in Bid for the White House."
I thought about adding "the GOP's" in there, but it's more than just the registered Republicans. There's a lot of racist and sexist Libertarians and other "independents" out there as well.

My friend and I were concerned about closet racists/ misogynists particularly boomers staying home and / or voting 3rd party/ Trump. I hope that's not the case, but boomers gonna boom ya know?
I don't think those people make up a large portion of swing voters these days. People didn't come out for Hillary because she had bare faced contempt for middle America, among other things.
