Valve released a new update to the Steam Client Beta for Steam Deck and Desktop, with some Steam Input changes and some improvements for Linux too. It's the same across Desktop / Deck since it's a Steam Client update.

FYI - the owner of this site, gamingonlinux, was a mod on the !linux_gaming@lemmy.ml community until they were caught abusing their moderator powers. Then they deleted their account and complained on mastodon that it's stupid design that mod logs are public. [Screenshot]

Instead, here's a link to the official post https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1675200/view/4522268823004994079

Transparency? Disgusting. I should be free to abuse my powers without peasants knowing, it's my god given right!

Wow this is honestly disappointing to see. Been reading his stuff for a while, guess I'll have to look elsewhere for Linux gaming news.

Unsurprising from Liam, he's and insufferable arse.

How did he get ousted? He setup the Lemmy community as far as I was aware?

Looks like he just quit

He may be insufferable, but imo he does do good journalism

Unfortunately there's not a lot of choice when it comes to Linux games journalism.

He does, and gaming on linux is an excellent resource we are fortunate to have. OTOH, GFY has now borne a grudge over this for months and makes a point of posting about it at every opportunity.

This link does not even generate any ad revenue (unless I cannot figure out how to turn off my ad blocking). It's so petty.

Lol? How is having the mod log publica bad thing? Everyone can see what shit and good a mod does in any given Community. That's a win in my book.

Where can we read the actual details of the abuse?

Nice. I'm playing Alien Isolation on Proton due to input problems. Gotta check if that's fixed with the update.
