We don't have to worry about AI taking over bartending jobs

...because they would pour too many fingers.

I doubt this joke works outside Nth America.

Everywhere I have been in the UK, EU, Aus etc all use standard measures when pouring spirits.

Yes, I had to look up what pouring fingers means.

First time I was fingered was in Poland.

A normal shot is three fingers...

So you do know what a finger is.

I spent 3 months on holiday doing a road trip in the USA, the majority of the world has not.

That is why I knew the joke only works there...

That's amazing though. How did you manage to patronize every single drinking establishment outside the united states to be able to claim definitively that there is no where else in the world the joke would play?

...

...

What, planning to edit that later? Are you quoting Hold On Now Youngster? Ellipses don't add anything to this conversation you have no more reason to reply to than you do to claim you know every drinker outside north america as a way to shit on my joke.

I know this is a joke but ironically there are already several automated bartending systems out there and being utilised by hospitality companies.

I randomly watched a review of a bunch of different automatic cocktail makers not too long ago, ranging from the cheapest on the market to the most expensive and I found it surprising how all of them basically sucked (I mean, according to the reviewer anyway). I can't see how a pre-programmed thing pouring exact amounts of liquids could fuck up making a cocktail except maybe in doing the crazy layering to make things like a tequila sunrise; but the taste should be spot on every time.

If they can't even make that work, an AI bartender is the least of anyone's concern.

How much of that you recon is set and setting?

Did the reviewers watch the machine make it and expect something "mechanical"?

Wonder what reviews would be if you brought a group at a table in a bar a blind selection of machine and human-made drinks.
Machine-made would probably be worse, but my and many other's thinking as much probably flavors reviews before the pour is made.
