I'm thinking about trading in my doorknob for a toilet

Toilets are an order of magnitude more expensive than doorknobs.

Source: am millennial homeowner who, by sheer coincidence, has bought both within the last month or so.

Depends what kind of toilet or doorknob. My company definitely sells some handle sets that are monumentally more expensive than the very affordable toilets I got from Costco.

Well sure, there's no limit to how monumentally expensive something can be if it's bespoke enough. But comparing a decent "normal" doorknob to a decent "normal" toilet, the knob is going to be $20-ish and the toilet is going to be $200-ish.
