Can we all agree to look up a local third party candidate and mention their name to someone you know who is also local?

I like ballotpedia.org but am very open to other resources or suggestions for how to get good info. Honestly half the reason I'm posting this is to start a solid thread of resources.

Whatever other affiliations or beliefs you have, I'm pretty sure we can all agree that we're not getting them out by starting at a national level. We need to get people back into talking about politics that don't involve Trump or Biden and people suck and are also just very depressed right now so we need to make it easy.

So today's social health challenge is to find a local candidate to start namedropping online or in person at least once or twice a week for the next six months. Encourage others to do the same. Get people talking about literally anyone third party. I don't even care if they're even actually a good candidate or whatever just stop letting them make the conversation about Trump and Biden!

I voted third party for 30 years straight. That all ended with Trump. If he wins, democracy is dead in the USA. There's no coming back from that. I was never a "lesser of two evils" guy, but faced with the option of living in a fascist dictatorship, you'd better believe I am now.

And as for Biden, he was my least favorite democratic candidate, but now that he's in office, I'd say he's been one of the most effective presidents we've had in decades. Student loan relief, fighting to reduce child poverty, and doing a half decent job of keeping WWIII at bay in Ukraine. I think a Cold War era president which will bend to the workers movement and social democracy is about as good as it's going to get.

I have no regrets voting for a major party candidate in this election whatsoever.

But if your friends are Trump supporters, by all means, be my guest.

I'd much rather spend my energy doing something useful like talking to them about the importance of pushing for ranked choice voting.

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) or literally any other preference voting system has mathematically and demonstrably better outcomes than the First Past the Post system most of the US uses today.

If We the People want to keep having a democratic republic that even remotely represents us, we need to keep fighting for better access to voting rights, fair districting, and improved voting systems like RCV.

We need to stop assuming everyone on the internet is from USA

I agree, but evidently you need to put local in bold because it's never what people are thinking about in these nonlocal forums. But that's where third parties will come from unless it's some celebrity case, who will most likely coopt an existing party, resulting in the same two party system and a dramatically shifted politics that leaves half the country without ideological representation.
