I've replied to quite a few people and I'm going to bed now.

I'll edit the posts with updates when my poopless journey ends. Either when the three-day poopless period is over (28th June) or when the whole thing is over (30 June/1 July).

Wish me luck.

You might wanna contact law enforcement if he comes over to your house without your permission

Email is already a federated system. You can host your own email service.

Okay I'll give in a tiny bit only because this barely narrows it down: one of them is ridiculously close to what is actually the case. Like, I'm actually doing the thing you mentioned in the point, just your reasoning is wrong.

P.S.: The actual reasoning is borderline impossible for anyone to guess so just stop trying guys.

You can't do it on Lemmy unless you're an admin but the Connect for Lemmy app has this feature.

Well, it depends on your interests. Try searching on browse.feddit.de or lemmyverse.net.

If they do, they should be on PeerTube

I miscalculated. The poopless days begin tomorrow, not today. About 28 hours left.

On the official app you would get notifications at certain milestones (1 upvote, 5 upvotes, 10 upvotes, 20 upvotes, 1000 upvotes, etc.).

I believe the point of Fediverse is making sure no big corporate decision can ruin the whole thing for everyone. Since a huge amount of people will be using the Meta apps, a bad decision will mess it up for quite a lot of people.

I personally like the new Threads app. Most of my friends use Instagram and this is a nice change from the reels and all that crap. But I definitely think it should not join the Fediverse.

That's what got me constipated in the first place.

Very, very short explanation:

All of these are different servers which are federated, meaning people from each of the servers can interact with and view posts and users on other servers. Each server is run by independent admins. This way, if the admins of one server get greedy or turn into a-holes, you can easily switch over to a different server. Lemmy is a decentralised network so no one big corporate decision can fuck everyone over.

Huh?

These people deserve years behind the bars

Yup. Or you can use something like Proton Mail.

It doesn't matter as long as:

  • Your instance isn't defederated from too many big instances. (LW is defederated from beehaw.org so I have alternative accounts to view posts from there).
  • Your instance doesn't have a specific topic that you aren't interested in. (LW is a general-topic instance so that's all good).
  • Your instance has good uptime. (LW often has issues with huge masses of users migrating over from Reddit).

It's still a very good instance. If you want to switch over to a different instance, check out Awesome-Lemmy-Instances on Github.

The ones for Reddit weren't nearly as buggy as the official one. For example: the video player. The official app's video player was absolute garbage. You would randomly hear audio from other random videos while scrolling, videos would refuse to play, and sometimes you would have to spam the play/pause button repeatedly to get through the video. There were a lot of other buggy aspects to the main app but this was one of the biggest complaints. The 3rd-party apps also had accessibility features which allowed users with disabilities to access Reddit.

The Lemmy web app interface is kinda weird on Lemmy and sometimes certain pages load a bit slow. There isn't much wrong with it though. The 3rd-party apps just feel nicer to use.

  1. Promote it on !newcommunities@lemmy.world

  2. Get it added to sub.rehab (since you mentioned it's based on niche subs)

You can't really follow someone until they've made an account. Threads has an option where you can go into settings and find a list of your Instagram following list. From there, you can make it so you follow certain people as soon as they join Threads.

UPDATE: I HAVE OFFICIALLY SHITTEN MY LAST SHIT!

I've packed the first three you mentioned 👍 Thanks a lot for the reply!

Day 1 of not shitting started 4 hours ago, but it's time for the real journey to start. Goodbye my friends. Wish me luck.

From what I understand, LW users were posting lower quality content after a huge amount of Reddit users flooded into it and the Beehaw admins were tired of it so they defederated.

I managed to force the shit out somehow thanks everyone.

SAME. This is why I'm not going back to Reddit even if they decide to undo the API stuff.

From my experience, sorting by Hot on Lemmy has always been kinda weird

I had been eating very little and avoiding fibres for 24 hours but someone offered some gummies and i somehow forgot about the whole thing 😭

No kinky stuff involved.

No drugs involved.

No breaking-the-law-in-any-other-way involved.

I wasn't forced and only two people know I'm holding my poop in. But they don't know what extents I'm willing to go to in order to achieve this.

I only cycle once in a while and it feels amazing when the wind rushes through my hair and I zoom through the city.

Click here for a list of instances and their differences. Just pick whichever one you want. You might not wanna pick one that's dedicated to one particular topic.

I hate that bot SO MUCH. It's the only account i have blocked on Lemmy.
