[Answered] I keep seeing the initials "ig" in comments. They clearly don't mean "Instagram". What does "ig" mean then?

I get over abbreviation is annoying but this isn't that bad
Still takes a moment to understand what they mean, and leads to confusion like the poster experienced. Doesn't cost anything to write the full words! Maybe I'm just getting old!

Clearly it's referring to typed words and if you're asking someone that question given that sentence, I'd say you're being intentionally ignorant.
