Lemmy.world defedded several instances recently, ours both are included... you may not see updates from that lemmy.world community unfortunately
So far we over at midwest.social seem to have avoided that fate. We're kinda "don't start no ish, won't be bo ish" kinda folks. But someone is always saying "we need to defederate from xxx right now!"
I think we maybe did defederate from some abandoned instance that was taken over by nazis though.
I heard a new feature will let users block instances they don't want to see. I think that'll be a big help.

Yeah, its pretty unfortunate. We can't move the community since it's already established.
