BEIRUT/THE HAGUE, March 7 (Reuters) - An Israeli tank crew killed a Reuters reporter in Lebanon in October by firing two shells at a clearly identified group of journalists and then "likely" opened fire on them with a heavy machine gun in an attack that lasted 1 minute and 45 seconds, according to a report into the incident published on Thursday.

the IDF said: "We don't target journalists."

DOUBT

With their kill count, that actually sounds worse. It would mean that they killed so many civilians that you'd statistically expect over 100 journalists to be among them.

Well yeah, they target Hamas, and all the journalists are Hamas. Totally different.

I use that excuse for everything. "Sorry can't go to in-laws, there's a hamas tunnel beneath their home"

"calling out sick, there's a high value Hamas target nearby, so sorry."

"oops, my bad for rear-ending your vehicle but you had Hamas in your car."

You buried the lede:

"Reuters could not independently determine if the Israeli tank crew knew it was firing on journalists, nor whether it also shot at them with a machine gun and, if so, why."

Ah yes the magical part where the IDF denies it or says oops and you absolutely find that as a good enough excuse for starving 2 million human beings who are no different than you.
