Yay! I’m so happy for you! I have an appointment in a week and I am so nervous/excited I don’t know. I hope you make your dreams come true!

That's exciting! You should let us know how it goes.

Thanks! I originally thought I had 90 days to come up with plans and schemes, but then they were like ‘soooo like next week?’ Hah. I’m wxcuted and nervous. Going to push for anything I can get, and I think I want to do injections. I hope yours goes great! I want to hear from you!!! And I’ll update too!!!

Nice. I think I want to try sublingual. Have you heard of the shot helper thing? It's a little spiky thing that is supposed to distract you enough to barely notice getting a shot. You can get them on Amazon, maybe pharmacys have them but idk.

Thanks for the recommendation! I hadn’t heard of it but I’m going to check it out for sure!

Heck yeah. I'm so happy for you!

I have my first appointment in a week for the same thing :Do

Let's get pretty girls!

Awesome! Someone else here has theirs in a week too. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah will share how it goes and if the therapist can already give me a diagnosis so I can start the therapy with my health care provider.

Massive congratulations are in order for ya, mate! No doubt you'll find plenty joy in the future :) I'm personally still very new to this entire scene since switching to Lemmy and stumbling upon this lovely instance, and I am currently at the point of asking myself the big questions and figuring stuff out about myself. Learning plenty though, I must say! If you don't mind me asking, was it a tough decision for you to make, or did it make crystal clear sense to take the step?

It definitely wasn't hard to make the decision. I knew I wanted to go on HRT shortly after I started questioning my gender. The year and a bit since then has just been making sure and getting the people around me used to the idea with mixed success.

Something very important to remember is that everyone's journey is different. Don't think you need to fit in with the people who knew they were trans as a toddler, I certainly didn't.

A perfect answer as far as I'm concerned! I wasn't necessarily worried about feeling like I wouldn't fit in, but it's still a healthy reminder regardless!

I'll keep sitting on that egg till the day I can face the answer with confidence :)

Best of wishes to you! I hope the "mixed success" you mentioned was still quite manageable?

Thanks. Yeah, fiancée while being supportive still took a bit to get used to it and my mom is struggling pretty hard with it but my brother is also trans so she is generally supportive. My grandparents are having a bit of an easier time with it but it's still a shock. I am the older "normal" one. Haha not anymore!

Oh fuck yeah. HRT is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I'm excited for you!

I'm so excited too! It's finally happening... well it'll start to happen sometime after a month from now but it's something!

That's not terrible! I had to wait longer to get into Planned Parenthood, but it was worth it. My PP is phenomenal. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! I hope your experience is as good as mine, because I have some very skilled nurses and providers, and that's its own special treat.

in a month 😸

Egads! A talking cat! Congratulations, kitty. May you soon feel the wholeness and delight of a well-fed kitten snuggled in the warmest blankets.
