Hey everyone, well checked my mod mail and we've been served. I personally have been using Apollo Lifetime to mod for years now and the official reddit app is a dumpster fire so basically I have no way of modding r/Moustache, r/BeardTalk or r/Beardstache. I guess this is the end of the road for me as a mod over on reddit, not like I was getting paid anyway!!

Edit: To add more insult to the situation, I can’t even send a response to the message. It appears they don’t give a damn what mods have to say (not that it wasn’t obvious before). Either open up the subreddit or your out.

Cmon down, enjoy the Fediverse. Management here doesn’t hate users, imagine that!

And if ever it does, users can just become management!

Lame sauce! I didn’t follow those subs but thank you for your service!

How are they replacing all these mods?

Not quite sure to be honest. There were 6 of us and the subreddit has 115,000 so kinda small to moderate in size, but good luck to whatever happens over on reddit. If they think there were shitposts, bots and nsfw content where they're shouldn't be before imagine in the future. People in r/Moustache were getting sexual comments and private dm's in which we had to resolve and I highly doubt a new mod is going to be able to handle this. Not many people want to go mod for free.

I just recently went into an argument with someone on Twitter saying mods could be replaced with AI soon. Good luck with those disputes lol.

At this point an AI bot (which more likely was trained on Reddit) would decline mod status on that shit hole lol!!

Ironically, they're not.

At least, not yet. InterestingAsFuck is still unmoderated and has submissions disabled.

There's a feeding frenzy over in RedditRequest rn, but other than that the subs where Admin intervened in modlists are effectively shut down while Admin figures out how to unfuck the fuckery.

I think if I were modding one of the remaining subs I'd just keep going and make Reddit keep digging a hole. Replacing the mods for a few of the subs? No problem. For all of the protesting subs? Yeah have fun with that Reddit.

I was a member of /beards on reddit...I have a beard. But left reddit behind. I don't think reddit realizes that it is unpaid mods and users who make the content and keep the quality of the site they want to profit off of.

I believe they will though.

I was a mod on r/Beards as well starting back when it had 150,000 subscribers but I left 4 months ago. Hopefully a beard magazine pops up here and you enjoy it!!
