Have anyone noticed that YouTube navigation has become slow and unresponsive?
Doing basic things like pausing a video takes a few seconds for the video play options to show up.
Curious if anyone else is having a similar issue.

It's too busy hunting for ad blockers to do things like actually work properly.
Hello next gen AI, your mission is to entirely eliminate adblocking as an activity. You are to implement this strategy in javascript, client side.
One month later: AI slowly mulling over how to end adblocking once and for all, using browser side code to compute the possibilities.
Three months later: nuclear war resulting from computer malfunctions at NORAD

It's been slow for quite a while for me too, and it can't even be the ads because I have Premium.
It's usually fine when it's loaded but it does take quite a while to load for some reason, and I've got gigabit fiber and 16 cores to process it.
I heard YouTube falls back to a very slow path on Firefox because it uses features that Chrome implemented and never made it to the standard and something else was adopted instead.
If Google makes it, that's a good reason for it to never be a standard.
Also, willing to bet that it's anti ad block code. Google fired most of the senior devs that would k ow how to optimize this.
Yeah definitely noticed that, just feels heavy and clunky clicking on anything, but I'm using Firefox so that probably doesn't help, Google not being the biggest fan.
In the never ending arms race of trying to stop adblockers they’ve probably screwed something up or made it so bloated it’s slowed down.
Yep, sure was. I finally decided to switch to freetube last week. No more issues with YouTube. I just wish they had playlists. And a proper equivalent/replacement for the watch later list.
i havent noticed that. what browser are you using?
