Reminder the US sells weapons to the Taliban.

Sucess? They set up a pseudo client state, outsorced all the country building labor to contractors so their friends got paid while the locals wouldn't have the means or know how, then pulled everything out all at once. What part of that does US Aid jeopardize?

At the end of the day, the it was an American war that we in the rest of the West just helped with, and the Americans didn't care about Afghanistan enough to actually "do it right" at the full cost in Western lives, cash and political capital that would have been required.

Not to say that I agree with the report that the UK would have done it better, either.

It wasn't a war, it was an invasion.

Occupation. And wasn't it a handy coincidence that the two countries we occupied, Afghanistan and Iraq, just happened to bookend Iran in the middle.
