Reddit was awesome. Itโ€™s sad what became of it.
Started in Lemmy but kbin's reputation system woo'd me over!

To be fair - it could have been about something else as well.

Taking some time to calm down during a fight if getting angry/sad/whatever.
The other party might think that you are running away.

Make sure they know that you continue once calmed down.

Why couldn't we just make conditions decent enough for them to tolerate their stay and launch education and schooling career choices to encourage them getting back into the society once they have done their time and then having a chance to start earning money in lawful ways...
Instead of torturing them all and leaving them in their filth when they are not tortured...

I recall someone asking "Then why did you break up if you are good buds?".
Sometimes it's easier being friends rather.

Exes belong to life and memories as much as anyone in any other role. No need to forget them any more or less than anyone else (painful feelings and memories are another story).

Sometimes you can take a pause after a breakup to kill feels and later come back to friendly terms.

I have my water ready before I even enter the place.

There are ideas and arguments that can counter consumerism.

For instance - putting away same old decorations and reusing them should lower consumerism somewhat.

Simple, instructional and fast to learn! I love it!

That comes to mind now:

  • Tries not to argue and start fights but rather tries to understand and cooperate with constructive criticism
  • Speaks up her mind if something is on the matter that has anything to do with me
  • Loves cuddling and sex
  • Enjoys at least some of the things I do and joins in
  • Shares at least some of the things she does
  • Offers support when wished for/needed

The same things I either do already or try to do.

Could it be an age thing?

I'm 32.
I've had issues with it past maybe 3-6 years.

  • Listen at a Christmas radio
  • Watch a Christmas movie/animations/cartoons
  • Read Christmas books/comics
  • Write your own Christmas stories
  • Talk about Christmas
  • Do your favorite Christmas'y thing
  • Create a new Christmas'y habit
  • Make a Christmas music playlist
  • Create a Chistmas get-together
  • Sing Christmas carols (alone or with someone(karaoke))
  • Craft something Christmas'y

Listening at music, watching a movie and the radio has helped me reach some level of Christmas!

Oof, that's true!
That didn't even cross my mind! ๐Ÿ˜…

There are many reasons and starting points in these stories.

My favorite stealing stories are the ones that include items that would go to trash anyway/otherwise. I dislike the idea of stuff going to trash that needed materials and services to be created (no doubt creating some pollution while a it)...it'd just be such a waste.
Those situations feel more legitimate/reasonable to take something while passing.

I thought you were speaking of ghosts or demons and the like ๐Ÿ˜‚

"Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease linked to repeated trauma to the head."
According to Wikipedia

We were studying XYZ, coordinates during one math class in the middle school.
I asked where's the Z if X and Y were on the paper. My friend pointed with his finger that Z would come out of the paper like this.

Mind blown ๐Ÿ˜‚
I still reminiscent on it once in a while.

I actually started looking!

One site would have wanted me to pay for yer translation.
One led to an article of the alphabets and learning the language.
One didn't have any of the words I searched in their database.

Guess we don't have a functional, free eng-sum(?) translator out there!

So many ladies have asked me why I don't want kids that I needed to make a list ๐Ÿ˜‚
Copy-pasting is easier and much faster ๐Ÿ˜‚

The thread description reminded me -

.

Back when I was a school advisor, I learned something from a coworker (teacher).
Some of our teachers were "oldschool" and refused using a new name a student had because of their beliefs. And that the main (or a big) reason why certain kids do suicides is because they are not called by the names they want to be called.

People walk up to the bar when entering the place, get a drink and take it to tables.

...I'm not sure how they'd get a refill (I don't recall my group refilling) but I'd assume they go up to the bar again.

I'd argue that having a negative reputation could affect (some) people's behavior here as well.

Play horror games -> get scared of something + have a weak heart -> risks of RIP
I guess.

I would guess it takes less resources to just patch these poor folks up and make it possible for them to become functional society members and workers again...instead of letting them to rot in prisons.
And if any crimes were involved, then at least give them reasonable conditions to sit their time out and educate them meanwhile.

I was once handed a princess to use as a playable character in my first text-based chat roleplaying game with 3-5 other people of girls and boys.
It quickly grew on me and I started using girls more often as my playing character from then on.

I won't deny that looking at them could be generally nicer, but I believe it's not the main reason. At least when it comes to text roleplaying, I like to (try) think and behave like a lady in games, to roleplay in their world of view. It's neat in its own way and I love the immersion when it hits me!

I always write when I feel bad enough.

I wrote down about my bad feelings. I wrote a letter I pretended to send them - it helped a lot.
I created a tool I used to see where on my way on healing I was. I used a clicker to measure amounts of thought I had about them and made a chart out of it (It was awesome to see how the thoughts dwindle to nothing with time)!

You can also talk about it with friends, family and strangers.

I dig how we nowadays can (start) come (coming) up with solutions that can aid even people with worse diseases and symptoms!

...would you behave this way in a restaurant?

Yes. I haven't ordered anything while a friend has eaten something.

But you simply wouldn't get away with that if it wasn't for the others buying drinks and we do so to "pay the rent" so to speak

Hmm. I think I wouldn't go to a bar with a group of people if nobody were ready to buy anything.
I'd believe a library would be one better option in that case.

Someone's trash is someone's treasure!

I get a feeling that it is to be expected that you use tools your workplace has, to, well, do your job ๐Ÿ˜

And since you also spend your own resources for the greater good...I fail to even understand that how your input would be considered as stealing ๐Ÿ˜‚ More like the contrary!

I don't think this is about alcohol.
I believe most of them order something else cos it's late Monday and most people go to work the next day.

I'd find this as nice/polite as a customer ๐Ÿ˜Š

So normal walking would be better than limping.

No unbearable pain existing.

::: spoiler test
Does this thing work?
:::

sigh Finally.
Now I just need to find a convenient way to save this piece of code and copy-paste it whenever I need it ๐Ÿค”

.

...except that when I wrote more text into this comment, the code broke ๐Ÿค”

Upon further testing - if I edit a text, the spoiler stops working. When I update the page, the spoiler works again.

Oh my Deity how did you do that?!

I've been cursing enviously for days when I see a spoiler (system) I couldn't use myself!
I didn't get Lemmy's style to work.

I donโ€™t agree with the โ€œdonโ€™t botherโ€ hopelessness in this thread. Trying to do the least bad thing is still worthwhile, even if you canโ€™t do something perfectly ethical. Iโ€™m proud of you for doing your best.

Yup. Don't let others choose your ethical views and decisions for you. I know boycotting big companies makes life more complicated (and sometimes more expensive) but I'm still doing it myself.
If you don't want to support a cause because of whatever, go for it and look for an alternative. Enough asking around and studying the Internet should bring out more options eventually, if you got the resources for this study.

This feels like an overreaction ๐Ÿค”

But as @otp said - experience brings knowledge of yourself and others and can make stuff more enjoyable and easier to do.

First thing that comes to my mind is something military-like or something that involves killing People (innocent or not).

people are leaving due to the extreme lack of niche content

Gotta get active and be a creator for such content yourself then, eh? To raise possibilities to get other actives around while at it.

armchair activist bullshit constantly taking up the feed and comments sections.

I encourage to ignore or block communities/users/whatnot that don't add any content to your interest or cause harm for ya.
