The problem with these "free speech" instances is that they'll get defederated really quickly if they aren't already defederated. You can start your own instance, but don't be suprised when many instances starts to defederate your instance when the bigotry starts spilling over to the fediverse.

It doesnt even matter if its true, if a non fascist/tankie made the same code, none of you would be complaining. Why should anything be different just because the devs happen to be a fascist/tankie/ whatever they believe in. They cant control what each instance does once they publish the code. The code is public now and its free for anyone to use. They can't censor what we say in instances that they don't control. I mean try it now, you can flip them off right here, right now and they can't do anything about it, they don't run lemmy.world. Only the owners of lemmy.world can do something about it.

Yea see, the only instances that the devs control are lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml, every other instance is not run by them. For example, the instance I use (lemmy.dbzer0.com) is run by an anarchist.

If you want to delete something on lemmy, make sure you edit the post/comment and replace it with something like "Deleted" then go to another instance to verify that the edit got sent to other instances. If you still see your old comment, then try editing it again later to a different text like "Deleted 2". Only click the delete button after you've verified that your original text is no visible from other instances.

Now why do I say this? Because if you delete the comment without overwriting it, the deletion request might not get sent through the fediverse and now someone on another instance is still able to view your post. You can't sent the deletion request twice, but you can edit a comment as much as you want, so if the federation is broken, you can always try to overwrite the comment again at a later time. Even then, there might still be a instance somewhere that didn't receive your update/deletion request, so please make sure you don't accidentally post your personal information.

Well I mean the coverage on the submarines isn't really because of their net worth (not denying that it isn't a contributing factor), but submarines sinking isn't really that common, as another user have said in their comment. Remember MH370? A majority of the passengers weren't wealthy, but it still got a lot of media coverage.
