I've seen people use till, when they mean 'til, but never seen tell. That's just weird.

I’ve never heard anyone say “tell” to mean “till” so I won’t comment on that.

Same here, dont think I've once heard or seen that (exceptions being genuine spelling mistakes). Not gonna automatically call them a liar because I haven't experienced it though, could be the communities or area they're in.
Their are other misteaks people make aswell, alot of people don't know english good.
