I was born just before Reagan was elected. Growing up, I got the mostly mistaken impression that America had some of its shit sorted from Vietnam, WWII, and all that 20th century turmoil. A period of stability. Upward trending society. Reagan undid a lot of that progress.
I've been watching this country die, slowly, for 45 years. This has been such a weird time to be alive. Fighting over scraps we volunteered to subsist on instead of overthrowing corrupt and cruel systems. We had periods we thought we were recovering. We had hope. I feel today like there isn't any left. Another four years of this, and it will be worse.
He struck a fatal blow. He used the tools of fear and rhetoric to do it. The weakness was there, the vulnerability. And here is the next evolution of American fear. We're a country voluntarily destroying itself out of fear of our imminent destruction. We had everything, and we gave it away.
We heard the call of the void, and we've answered.
We didnt give it away, we actively cast it into an active volcano
This will open up doors for his sons to run for president. I don't know when but Eric trump will run and so will the other snot nose brat baron. Who knows when but it'll happen
That's IF there's another election. I'm wagering with full GOP control that he might just abolish the electoral college and appoint his successor.
I hardly know much of anything about politics other than surface level/ current event knowledge.
Do you mind explaining how that's possible?
Well, GOP controls all branches of gov and can rubber stamp any legislation if it means they hold power. Add in the SCOTUS ruling that says the Pres is immune to basically all criminal charges.
It would be easier to hold the veneer of democracy and make the Democratic Party a fake party with the outcome of elections predetermined, ala Russia.
Well, sure. But, we must remember he's a mentally-deficient bully. He won't take the easy route if that means he can self-fellate.

Dying with thunderous "patriotism". If there was a nuke that could paint the affected area in an American flag, it would be used.
