if you lose one of your galoshes, are you left with a galosh?

Yes. For instance, if you wear one galosh and one flip-flop while walking through mud puddles, your footsteps will sound like "galosh! flip, flop."

I think one will consistently "flip" and the other will consistently "flop". Haven't tried this yet though.

I was thinking galoshes were those things that cover your pants (like a fisherman would wear a long with galoshes) when I read the title but realized that was incorrect, and now I can't remember what those things are called 😩

When I was a kid, my family was so poor, I had 1 shoe and 1 boot. All the kids in school called me Shabooty.
