One of their judges even had the nickname "Judge Merciless". They don't care about the facts, they are just looking for a way to please the corporation without it being too obvoius.

Wouldn't this same logic require vlc media player of all things also be taken down, as it is possible to use it to download YouTube videos?

Newpipe is an app for Android that has a d/l option.
Libretube is another similar option.
Seal is another option, and it uses YT-DLP on the backend, a fork of Youtube-DL.
Youtube-dl has been getting nothing but chased down the past year or so now.
