For real though, what the fuck China, South Korea, and Japan? But especially Japan.
The age of consent in Japan was only 13 up until 2023. In China, it's still 14. South Korea's was 13 up until 2020. That pretty much sums it up right there.
True but only sorta, most provinces had it higher. Still fucked up though
Edit: in Japan
Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Portugal
The National Japanese government is slow. Every single Japanese prefecture raised it up a long time ago.
I don't like lolis, but even I know the difference between a drawing and real life
This is the endgame of that mindset. Give em an inch they turn into this
I agree that this behaviour really is mind numbing, but going to any instance and insulting the fanbase will get a similar response
(btw I hate gacha)
idk any other fandom that has someone openly double down on pedophilia and not get immediately exiled, insulted, and/or banned. This dude got affirmation. I found this post on /all from zzz_official, not even some shitty porn sub, the official sub
The above is a link to a post in the stardew valley subreddit, which was laudered as one of the most accepting and chill communities on Reddit
The post was made before the great "fuck u/Spez" debacle, so before every decent individual left
In it, I compare an anime version mod that changes a "MILF"'s portrait (their words, not mine)
In it, I'm lambasted as being called a "pedo" and "liking 15yo girls"
Yes, actual pedophilia is bad, but I'd argue people who witch hunt drawings, which aren't hurting anybody, have way too much collateral like the above to even be considered a good thing to uphold. They ultimately achieve nothing other than patting themselves on the back for screeching at an innocent individual
So yes, I understand why the people in the screenshot acted the way they did. Because this post is what happens when the numbers skew the other way
That sucks, and I'm sorry it happened, but I would say that being falsely accused of being a ped because of a harmless art style change is pretty different from someone expressing discontent with some weird behavior and someone coming in and saying "So what? We're into that shit and so are the based devs, so fuck off with your morals and go bitch somewhere else, normie tourist".
Honestly, the drawings are one thing, but the main problem is people trying to convince me that it's not weird to form your sexuality around fictional middle schoolers, either through denial, saying it's ironic, or worse, embracing it once they find a clique of like-minded people. Like, buddy (not you, but some guy I'm reminiscing about), you jerked off to it, which means you like it. That's it. You can't argue with that. I'm not saying you're going to kidnap kids the next day or anything, but if you ask anyone it certainly wouldn't help your case against it.
The people in the post are literally doing the exact thing you were admonishing. It's very hypocritical to say this behaviour is "pretty different"
