What do you think of Eastward?
I think the pixel art style is great. At the beginning I also thought the game was very cool with a very intriguing story, but then the game started to ask me to do totally useless things for progressing in the story, like: go find the berry for cooking the meal for this person for no reason, but then something stupid happens so you lose the berry, so go get the crabs for cooking the meal for this person for no reason and apparently something else stupid is happening and here I am. I think I lost interest in the game and don't want to play it anymore at this point and I'm sorry because I really wanted to play it to the end 🫤
It’s one of the prettiest pixel art games out there, but it’s absolutely the most boring game I’ve played recently that I can recall.
It took me months to get through it.
Agreed. I actually can't even remember if I finished it or just set it down one day and forgot to come back to it.
The story was... Sort of interesting? The art direction was just way ahead of the gameplay, which was a shame.
I've finished the game, and thought it was a pretty decent experience. Pacing is a little weird, but the gameplay loop is fun, and the story is engaging enough. Grab it on sale
I enjoyed it for a good while and found it really charming. I just ended up kind of losing interest for some reason. No idea how far along I was, but I had to be at least half way through.
The soundtrack was a standout to me, I'll say that!
man Ive been meaning to get back into this game, I just got it on the switch to see if I would have more time to play it there
I loved it. Great art style, the soundtrack is amazing, and I found the story compelling. It's one that I actively recommend to people.
