You know tipping has gotten out of control when your son says we have to tip Santa with money.

Santa has always worked on tips, that's what the cookies and milk are for

Around here (Aus) it has been a tradition for generations to leave a beer out for Santa as he no doubt could do with a break during the long night dropping off presents.

In America's hat, common as well. We always set out a chilled glass and a Molson with some Christmas cookies for Santa.

I was genuinely confused when the Americans I later met said milk and cookies... Why milk? There's no cows or goats in the North pole, Santa is home brewing.

In france we also used to put milk when I was a kid, it must be an old tradition of something

can't buy-off santa for a measly buck. better make it at least $20, kid.

More like 20% the cost of the gifts MINIMUM this includes if you got coal

That would be spendy. The kids are getting new tablets this year. Though not crapple, so half as much as it could be. The old ones lasted about 6 years, thats pretty good for kids.

I was imagining a mall Santa soliciting tips. Tipping culture has gotten out of control.
