not even mad, just regretting my decision to pay for a large

McD is an undisputed masterclass player when it comes to shrinkflation. They do that shit since I can remember. But this is more than mildly infuriating :O

When I was a kid somebody told me that McDonald's uses wider straws to encourage people to drink faster and therefore subconsciously encourage them to buy larger drinks. Is that true? I have no idea, but I do know that those straws made excellent blow guns for shooting Tic Tacs across a classroom.

I hate when they do that. Especially when McDonald's is one of the most profitable franchises. You have to squeeze out 2 cents more out of me?

The discussion around the enshitification of social media is interesting but I feel we've had an enshitification of fast food places for a long time. From Subway constantly removing peoples favourite filling, to McDonalds increasing the prices of their "saver" menues and portions.

We've had large fast food chains completely decimate family run businesses in the name of affordibilty only now we're getting neither.

I don't think it'll ever stop people from buying mcdonalds. They've had years to capitalise on generations buying into it and people growing a nostalgia and want for the classics there but I really doubt this is the end of it.

Interesting topic of discussion thought
