This is pretty monumental legislation being introduced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, some highlights of the proposed amendment

All Federal Government records concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena should carry a presumption of immediate disclosure and all records should be eventually disclosed to enable the public to become fully informed about the history of the Federal Government’s knowledge and involvement surrounding unidentified anomalous phenomena.

(4) Legislation is necessary because credible evidence and testimony indicates that Federal Government unidentified anomalous phenomena records exist that have not been declassified or subject to mandatory declassification review as set forth in Executive Order 13526 (50 U.S.C. 3161 note; relating to classified national security information) due in part to exemptions under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (42 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.), as well as an over-broad interpretation of "transclassified foreign nuclear information", which is also exempt from mandatory declassification, thereby preventing public disclosure under existing provisions of law.

I feel like I haven't ever typed this sequence of words before in my life, but, good job Chuck Schumer. Transparency is a good thing.

Chuck Schumer introducing this gives it a bit of legitimacy, vs some random kook.

Do they know something?

Its all because of the Grusch hearing/whistleblowing.

Maybe there are aliens, maybe not, but either way the DoD has been hiding things from congress which is a no-go.

Even with all that aside its nice to have some bipartisanship going on for once.

Maybe there are aliens, maybe not

In the likely event of "not," conspiraturds will never believe it.

I'm pretty sure Beyonce exists, I just don't think she visited your house. Regardless of how many grainy photos you have of "unidentified people" driving by.

Exactly. To look at the mind-numbing vastness of just our galaxy let alone the hundreds of billions of others and think we're the only ones is the height of hubris. Are they here zipping around in little silver balls that defy all known laws of physics kidnapping hillbillies and mutilating cattle? No, that's conspiracy theory nonsense. Maybe the US government is being overzealous in classifying things, but that doesn't mean it's aliens, even if some guy with security clearance said, "Yeah, they're totally real. Trust me, guys."

It's got nothing to do with hubris. We don't know the probability of technological life developing.

There has been a lot of talk lately due to testimony given before Congress from a former Pentagon employee with the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office who claimed (second hand) that the USA had intact and partially intact alien vehicles

“We are not talking about prosaic origins or identities,” Grusch told the Debrief. “The material includes intact and partially intact vehicles.”

Grusch said analysis determined that this material was “of exotic origin” – meaning “non-human intelligence, whether extraterrestrial or unknown origin”.

Now, in my opinion, just because someone has impressive credentials doesn't mean that they're not a loon. On the other hand, I feel that the results of any tax funded research into such matters should be fully public.

Chuck is rich like the rest of them. This is dumb bs and aliens don’t exist. Idgaf. They don’t. The rich are playing a game and y’all are all cool with it because y’all don’t get it. Stop being so dumb and giving credit to this bs. These people are bullshitters. If there’s someone to always question it’s the Pentagon. Pay attention to real government problems like where’s all of our Treasury money? That’s way more important and interesting trust me.

That’s a terrible perspective to have, you completely dismiss decades and decades of evidence from people involved and who have experienced it.

Your ability to dismiss the subject wholesale shows that you’ve done zero research into this subject.
