There was a discussion a couple of years ago around gasoline taxes and how they are supposed to pay for roadway maintenance. The question came up about EVs. There were discussions about how to include EVs in the taxation system so they would pay for their fair share of the road. One of the options was to impose a tax attached to your vehicle registration based upon the weight of the vehicle. The greater the weight, the more wear and tear it produces on the road surface. This might be one solution to the barrier problem, namely moving the extra cost to the reason for the extra cost.

Trump told CNN he believes Vice President Kamala Harris will be easier to beat.

I want to see a debate between a felon and a former prosecutor. If she keeps referring to him as such, he'll lose his shit. His derangement will know no bounds.

In his Truth Social tirade, Mr Trump slammed the August 2022 at his Florida home and private club.

“WOW! I just came out of the Biden Witch Hunt Trial in Manhattan, the ‘Icebox,’ and was shown Reports that Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ, in their Illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE.

What's he complaining about? Isn't he the one who said the President can do no wrong?

You give your top talent what they want. The problem is that they hired a consultant to find out what that was. The consultant, knowing on which side his bread was buttered, told the board what they wanted to hear, which is, after all, why they hired a consultant instead of just asking.

So Trump moved money around from one PAC to another, all in the hopes of juggling some of that money into his own pocket. It would be a real shame if some investigative journalist were to track down all of those different transfers and discover some of them were against FEC rules. A darn shame.

In 1995, Musk and his brother, Kimbal, started Zip2, a web software company, with US$28,000 of their father's (Errol Musk) money

Tesla Motors was incorporated in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, who financed the company until the Series A round of funding. Both men played active roles in the company's early development prior to Elon Musk's involvement.

Responding to a screenshot of a CNN headline that read, “2% of Elon Musk’s wealth could help solve world hunger, says director of UN food scarcity organization,” Musk tweeted that if the U.N. World Food Program “can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it.”

WFP director David Beasley called his bluff, and actually outlined how the organization would use the $6.6 billion. Musk, who is worth approximately $239.2 billion, never responded to Beasley.

Joe being old and tired, and now that is all dead in the water.

Nope. Now it's trump who's old and tired. Kamala needs to go after trump and his crime family like she would other criminals and prosecute them in the press. She is a former prosecutor, after all.

How many embryos do you think you can manage to store? According to one site, storage costs are $400-$600 per year. You should be able to claim one exemption for each embryo and wipe out your withholding taxes. Maybe even get some extra state benefits, like qualifying for state aid since your income is so low on a per-child basis.

The extreme, even illogical nature of these interventions led to some speculation: Is Twitter’s so-called rate limit a technical mistake that’s being passed off as an executive decision? Or is it the opposite: a daring gambit of 13-dimensional chess, whereby Musk is trying to plunge the company into bankruptcy and restructuring? The situation has made conspiracy theorists out of onlookers who can’t help but wonder whether Musk’s plan has been to slowly and steadily destroy the platform all along.

Such theories are compelling, but they all share a flaw, in that they presuppose both a rational actor and a plan. You may not find either here.

That last line sums up what many have thought is actually going on at twitter, tesla, et al. for a while.

For many southerners, bigotry against non-whites is part of their identity. Are they saying the KKK should be a protected class? How can making a religion out of the belief that you deserve a particular piece of real estate be a protected class?

Zionism is an ethno-cultural nationalist movement that emerged in Europe in the late 19th century and aimed for the establishment of a Jewish state through the colonization of a land outside of Europe.

In other words, taking somebody else's land.

It eventually focused on the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, a region corresponding to the Land of Israel in Judaism, and of central importance in Jewish history.

Specifically, Palestinian's land.

Following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, Zionism became the ideology supporting the protection and development of Israel as a Jewish state and has been described as Israel's national or state ideology.

State religion. That never turns out bad, does it? /s

The press has learned that "engagement" is the only way for them to survive. The problem is that they are generating a false narrative to attract more viewers. Basically, it's become clickbait. They refuse to show all the information because then voters would see it and stop viewing them daily.

The Gulf Stream, which currently keeps Europe warmer than it should be, could be disrupted by sudden dumping of cold fresh water from Greenland. As I understand it, the fresh water is lighter than salt water and will essentially disrupt the Gulf Stream. Previously, It was believed that if the Gulf Stream were disrupted, Europe would plunge back into the temperatures that you see at the same latitudes in North America. The equivalent latitude for Belgium would be Winnipeg, which has exceptionally cold winters.

Now, you would think perhaps this would then balance out. The problem is that the Gulf Stream dissipates heat from the equator into the northern latitudes. Heat is what drives hurricanes. With nothing dissipating heat from the equator, you have an enormous, essentially battery, to power more frequent and larger hurricanes. Now before you start saying goodbye to Florida, consider that hurricanes ride along on the Gulf Stream. With it disrupted, where are those hurricanes going to go?

This is why weather modeling is so difficult. There are way too many variables to have to account for. Go ahead, try to make a prediction for more than two-three weeks.

Unlike most of Trump’s boasts, this one may be true, but not in a way that reflects well on him. Perhaps he’s right that Putin “will do that for me, but not for anyone else.” But that is because Putin rightly considers Trump an ally in whose success he is invested.

What’s worse is that, by openly signaling to Putin that he does not want Gershkovich to be freed before the election, he is destroying whatever chances may exist to secure his release before then. If Gershkovich goes free prior to the election, Trump would look foolish, and Trump understands perfectly well Putin does not want that to happen.
