It's been 3 years since I quit problem drinking, but I don't think I ever thought about not finishing a beer.

Right? If you stop to think that you can't finish it, then you probably don't have a problem. A problem is when you still have 12 beers left and you're worried you'll run out before 2 am and be stuck without beer.

Beer bread is like a simple soda bread; you can do it however you like and it usually turns out good

Ok, with the joke out of the way, it's pretty tasty. I've had it made with everything from cheap Mexican beer to milk stout and it's always pretty great.
My favorite is Shiner beer bread made into a grown up grilled cheese with tomato soup.
I find many beers impact the flavor only just a bit, but a Toasted lager makes a great loaf.
It's a nice way to use up beer you didn't finish or don't like and it's a super easy recipe.
