Least insane hexbear user
It's an option in the main page of connect for Lemmy for me
I've just switched to Boost, it only supports blocking a user or community. I've been playing Hexbear whackamole for the last few days, and I think I've got most of them.
There is always more.
On boost, you can't block an instance, but you can mute it! Been using it to mute all of the non-english instances crowding my /all
That's good to know, actually.
I block hexbear with connect.
With the default FE, you can't. Yet.

There isn't a way currently that I know of, just block the users and communities or hope your instance defederates from them.
It's an upcoming feature in Lemmy generally, or you can find it in some third party apps like Connect.
